Ear piercings, heavy ear jewelry or gauges, and injuries can cause stretched, elongated, or torn earlobes. Most earlobes needing repair can be treated with surgery. Elongated or misshapen earlobes can be shortened or reshaped to provide a more natural appearance. Torn earlobes are treated by removing the torn area and reattaching the earlobe to restore a normal appearance. Injectable fillers can also make thin earlobes thicker and more resistant to tears in the future.
